As a psychologist and a pastor , I tell people that my manner of approach towards any given situation or event is psycho-biblical technique. I postulated it for myself as a bible scholar and eductionist It simply means using psychological and biblical approach/ technique to handle any given event or situation.
For example, Psychology says motivate but the Bible calls it faith; motivation without a propeller is not it at all
The word that comes with faith has a away of dividing the bones, from flesh, dividing spirit from soul.
No doubt psychology is the scientific study of the mind and behavour; psychologists, I will always say, are the doctors of the mind; we deal with the mind and behaviour. I will say it again, the best form of character modification or mind control is the Bible (the word of GOD)
Heb 10;16, “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them”.
Hear this, it’s a mind game. It’s the game of the mind. God deals with us through our souls to our minds via the spirit. Likewise the the devil takes advantage of that to do same. That’s why the Bible says, casting down imaginations and anything that wants to exalt itself over the knowledge of God.
It’s a mind game. 3 John 2 says, God’s wish for us is to prosper and be in divine health even as our soul prospers.
The prosperity of your body and everything connected to it, depends on how your soul works or prospers.
We don’t see God, but He exist and deals with us through the spirit to our soul, and then to our minds. Our mind in turn sends signals to the brain. The brain and mind interact. While the brain is visible ( what you can see and touch) the mind is invisible but conscious. The body answers to the brain.
He said, He will write the Laws in our minds and hearts. Whatever anybody does it starts from the mind, then manifest physically.
Apostle Paul charged us in Phil 2.5 , that “let this mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus “. The mind that was in Christ Jesus is good. His thought for us is of good to give us an expected end, (Jer 29:11). He promised us long life, progress, prosperity, divine health to mention but a lot. Most worthy of mention, is the promise of ETERNAL LIFE; great serene.
For you to get these wonderful promises, you have to connect to Him. We are asked to set our mind on the things that are above because they are permanent; they have lasting packages.
You see everything is about the mind.

THE QUESTION NOW IS HOW DO YOU FIT INTO THIS MIND GAME TO WIN?
How Do You play This Mind Game To Conquer?
1) BY RENEWING YOUR MIND.
Rom12:2, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
That’s what we refer to in the study of behavior as “ being positive “. But the Bible calls it “FAITH”.
Study Of behaviour, has no power backing it just intellect; but the Bible has a rapid power backup. God’s word is quick and powerful and sharper than any two edged sword.
How do you do this, by reading the word of God and meditating in it day and night, (Joshua 1). You must keep echoing it in your inside.
“Keep renewing”; it’s a present continuous phrase. That is why we have daily devotional. They help you keep to stay on line with God; reminding you of the word of God. The bible is like mathematics; if you don’t study it, you may forget them and forget how it works; For faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God.
In every man there are two trees; the tree of good and the tree of evil; the tree of life and the tree of death; the tree of sorrow and of joy etc). Whatever you nurture, grows and bear fruits for you. If you tender good you will reap goodness; if you tender evil, you may reap sickness or whatever.
We must learn to nurture good stuffs in our mind.
“YOU ARE NOBODY ELSE BUT YOUR MIND”
“WHAT YOU ARE INSIDE will REFLECT ON YOUR outside”
There are times things just go bizarre and no hope for the future. It can happen to anybody; be you a pastor or member or leader; if care is not taking, it may just take you aback. But if you are already in turn with God, they just come, You subject them to the word of God and off they go.
There are stuffs that have happened to me that whenever I remember now, I just shed tears; but my tear now , is not the one of weakness but of victory.
The present state of the matter, COVID 19 and its effect, are enough to scatter your brain and put fear in you; But once you are guarded by the word of God, there will always be a checkup. For the word is a lamp unto our feet and a light to our path.
2) BY SPEAKING THE PRINCIPLES OF THE WORD OF GOD. In the study of behavior it’s called affirmation “ I can do it” “I can make it . The difference between psychological and biblical approach is that the first lack the spiritual power of God. God does not support knowledge; He only supports faith.
Learn to apply the biblical quotation you renew your mind with, by saying loud and clear. Keep speaking it. Don’t say it in your mind. Say it out, it’s a therapy. Keep talking it; keep screaming it; keep shouting it loud, until it sinks or manifest.
There is rhema in the word of God. Rhema is a special word in a specific situation to a specific person. All Peter needed from Jesus was just a word, “COME”. Immediately, he caught it and react by walking on water. That word of God in you can make you a water walker.
3) MIND WHO YOU ARE LISTENING TO. Yes, mind what you fill your soul with. Presently, there are two voices speaking to our hearing. Funny enough we only hear the loudest noise from an empty cymbal. The devil speaks negativity to your hearing; you may contract COVID 19; you may be sacked from work; your employer may not pay you; you may not get a husband or a wife etc. And When all these negative thoughts fill your head; there may be an explosion of fear.
Fear is an enemy that closes the door of certainty & faith – It’s certain that people are still eaten 3 square meal, but fear doesn’t want you to see it that way. When it happens like this it closes the door of your faith
WHAT YOU LISTEN TO DETERMINES WHAT YOU INFER OR CONCLUDE.
Whom have you been listening to? What have you been filling your soul with? Who is advising you?
Be careful. That is why. we should keep watching, Listening to life changing programmes or stuffs that will increase our faith.
-You can’t serve God and other things by the side.
So learn to take charge over your mind.
